little bossa

May 27, 2007 7:14 AM

I knew I had to play the flute. I found a bundy on ebay, and when I received it, began to play right away. This recording features guitar, flute and harmonica. Improvisation as usual, raw bossa vamp as background, no composed melody as such. Could have been longer without the telephone.

I love it when you put this stuff together. The improv on the guitar is cool and nicely backed up by the flute and harmonica.

I love hearing the harmonica used for stuff other than folk/country etc. It reminds me of a film from the '40s or thereabout that has no dialogue-only a harmonica giving a sort of narration.

Nice stuff.

Yeah, this is the part of the movie where the hero and the dame are in a nightclub and they are having some drinks after dinner. The decor is black and deep red. Most of the other customers have gone home. The band is winding down; they're playing more for their own amusement than anything else.

The hero and the dame look at each other. She has something important to say. It's not easy, but she finally works up the courage -- looks deep into his eyes -- parts her lips and OH SOMEONE IS CALLING ME, HANG ON I HAVE TO TAKE THIS

Damn telephone, the song was coming out quite nicely. I have this friend who I should list in the band's credits as the one who plays the telephone, he always calls when I'm recording, it's uncanny.

Oooooh. That's how it ends? I was plying with a cel phone I had brought back from the dead after finding it in the ocean.

And I just switched it on, and your song rang, Nicolin!

YEA I like.
