Sidewinder

Tuned the guitar way down and added some banjo. This song does this thing where it equates "snake" with "girl." Like a metaphor, see. Also: it seems to play better through headphones (possibly because of the use of stereo). But maybe I just have bad speakers.

Very cool. I was goofing around with Harvest Moon the just the other day, thinking about harmonics. Anything in particular inspire you to use them?

Also, if you don't mind getting nerdy, what kind of mics & pres are you using? Or any other gear/setup you'd care to disclose.

Sounds good on my speakers. Nice tune, and as usual there is something really free and effort-less-seeming about your song, despite the skilled playing. I really like your phrasing, too.

erikgrande - I never mind getting nerdy (it's in my very nature). I seem to be using MXL 990 and 991 mics, and a Tascam US-122 interface. And let's not forget good ol' Garageband!

As for the harmonics, I felt I needed something to spice up the main guitar part, and they seemed to fit into place.

This song kicks ass. I love the movement to banjo/whistling and back again. If there were votes for the challenge thing, you would have mine, or a couple or three.

Very nice! Loved the lyrics especially. Good voice too. Thanks!

Yet another song of yours that belongs in a movie. Fine-ass lyrics, too. This would also sound good in a pumped up rock version!
