I love this stuff. Unnecessary genre-bending is so much fun.
I went through a phase a few years ago of making crappy punk-inspired recordings of random tunes -- Piano Man, an excerpt from Stravinsky's Firebird, "Air" from Handel's Water Music, and When I'm Sixty-Four. I plugged in my Fender Strat right into the computer, and made myself do each of them in two takes -- one for chords, and one for melody. The results were, er, mixed, to say the least. posted by danb at 8:18 AM on

Haha, I haven't. It's embarrassingly terrible.
Although, hey, why should that stop me? I'll go dig it out now... posted by danb at 3:45 PM on

At some point in time, there needs to be a children's album of nursery rhymes re-imagined with appropriate music. I mean, the guy fell off a wall and smahed himself open. That's pretty dark.
"Little Bunny Frou-frou" would make a great grindcore track. posted by Durhey at 4:56 PM on
