This totally rehabilitated the rep of the Casio Drumset, nice work! Mind if I ask what your recording set-up/procedure is? posted by Alvy Ampersand at 6:33 AM on

My recording set-up: M-Audio Firewire 410 w/Sonar 5, using Battery, NI Guitar Rig and Electrik Piano. Hardware for this song: a cheap-ass SM57 clone, Kawai K4 Keyboard, Epiphone Dot, '73 Rickenbacker 4001 bass.
Much like my hot dogs are merely a delivery mechanism for relish and ketchup, this song is merely a delivery mechanism for the bass. Kind of a crap song, frankly.
Procedure varies per song, but in this case, I layed down the guitar first, followed by the vocals. It sat around for a few months like that until I added the bass. I was liking the bass tone, if not the song, so I wanted to give it some drums and call it done. I played the drums by hand in real-time and it shows, as does the fact that i didn't use a metronome when laying down the instrumental tracks.
Also, I've got no mixing skills, but i played with a bunch of nobs for a few days before giving up. posted by BoatMeme at 9:11 AM on

Well...I like it...I do. Reminds me of a band called Ash (Candy). A bit of spit and polish-but not too much polish- and ye have thee a ditty. posted by Zenabi at 4:51 PM on
