Your eyes, diamonds rough as a fist, chipped away.

This is one of my favorite songs off our last EP Declinate (buy it, watch it!). The lyrics are close to sleepy pete. "You're a better door than you are a window" is something he heard when he stood in front of the TV as a child. His nephew Shelton can be heard speaking at the beginning. The drums are a combo of a Yamaha keytar and one of our old Casios. Otherwise, it's guitars and VST instruments. Lyrics: (Hi! I don't need any of that.) Your eyes, diamonds rough as a fist, chipped away. Buried beneath a crooked smile signifying lines, signifying time. It would be kind to see your little face again. A light burns in you, but I hope you know. A better door than you are a window. A light burns in you, but I hope you know. The way that it makes me feel is so classic rock, yeah. A light burns in you, but I hope you know. The shades of the house are drawn and pale like the plants arrested without sun and your ghosts can't leave. No wonder it's a favorite. You two are always using the instruments I would use if I had them (like the home-organ beat on this one. That's an organ beat, isn't it?) I'm glad you guys are posting again (and two in a day!).

One of the reasons I like MefiMusic so much is hearing all these different kinds of songs. I've never heard anything like this and it's lovely.
