The Long Trail

December 30, 2007 2:36 PM

Foolishly recorded next to a loud computer. Features whistling, a shaker, and tapping on guitar percussion. Perhaps worth a rerecording someday. Named after a trail that cuts all the way across Vermont.

I'm on the long trail,
and I've got a long ways to go,
But I just started.

Don't know if I'll finish,
Don't know how long I'll last,
Without you.

I'm on the long trail,
Hope it's not the wrong trail.

Groovy, that second guitar is catchy as hell.

Hey, Corduroy, this is really sweet and inspiring to me. As much as I've learned about recording and equipment and stuff here on MeFiMu, this song is a reminder that one doesn't need a bunch of neat tools/recording equipment to make beautiful music. Thank you.

(I'm saving this for soundtrack material, I'll ask for permission before using though.)

Hey, thanks for the really nice compliment ranch! I appreciate it very much. I'm flattered you're keeping it for that purpose.

Corduroy, I've really liked the two songs that you've posted. To me they have great imagination and feeling. Keep posting your stuff, it's wonderful. Plus, noisy computers rule!

Yeah, it might not be correct textbook recording, but in this case it kinda added some personality to the song. And it does sound 'soundtracky'. Very cool, corduroy.

Best use of whistling I've heard yet on MeMu.
