Theme to Urban Decay

January 4, 2008 7:29 AM

First song I wrote on keyboard, for my new album.

This is the first song that I not only wrote on keyboard, but using MIDI as well. I wrote and recorded this in less than 10 minutes, which was a complete shock to me. I feel it has the feel of some 70's suspense/thriller movie (hence "theme from") and pictures my friend Darlene showed me of what urban decay looks like. I thought of the inside of abandoned mental hospitals, breweries, homes and the idea of old, forgotten memories swirling slowly within them, noticeable to only a few people. I'm only playing the keyboards in this originally. Subtle delay and reverb was added afterwards to give it a slightly shifting effect.
