In Toronto, around February/March, being at home with kids 24/7 can make an embittered ex-film student feel sorry for himself.

Great, as usual. A country-ish tune this time! Love the brass in there! Is that you playing?

between this and madscene's comments, you guys are starting to make me nervous... we've got our first on the way right now (only about a month to go, actually). i was kind of hoping to still be able to make music afterwards.

There are highs and lows, for sure. It's awesome and I've been housewifin' for 8 years now, wouldn't trade it for all the shitty jobs I've had in the past. That said, a certain malaise sets in sometimes in the winter when you are inside ALL THE TIME.

With regards to making music, you probably won't be doing a lot of it at the very beginning (although my old band had scheduled a very lo-fi demo recording session at a rehearsal space just before our first daughter was born and the day after she was born I went and did it, it's still referred to as "the Olivia sessions.") And then after a while it may become making music late at night when everyone is asleep, (which may greatly affect your style of music, it sure did mine). This is hard because then you are so tired in the morning when it's up and at 'em with a screaming baby.
Then it gets much better and easier. But by then you have trouble getting motivated and end up just drinking beer and typing away on your laptop.
