Naming Everything

February 19, 2008 2:48 PM

This song is about half my lyrics, and half other mefites.

Wring your pockets,
There's sure to be something dear to me
missing.

They put jars,
In the yard to save
water. (apologies to sleepypete)

Give me a pebble,
And I'll give you a
stone. (apologies to ORthey)

We felt like we were first,
Naming everyting in
sight.

I really like this, it's got a nice velvet underground/incredible string band feel to it. What's the percussion in the background?

Thanks pedmands. I've never listened to the Velvet Underground. What would you suggest I listen to first?

I used a Moravian Spice Cookies tin canister for the background beat.

Hey, thanks, Corduroy--no need to apologize. I'm honored. The lyrics remind me of Adrienne Rich's poetry. She felt that "writing is renaming" (or something to that effect). And the tin sounds nice.

No apologies needed here, either! Great job!
