An Edwardian Approach

An Edwardian Approach

(C Gruber)

Maybe I'm living in a fantasy
I'm not sure what it is you've meant to me
But the pages keep on turning while I'm reading
An Edwardian approach will find no meaning

Maybe I'm closer than I've ever been
I can determine virtue in my sins
But the pages keep on turning while I'm reading
An Edwardian approach will find no meaning

The two of us are simply drifting
The trials and truth reveal
I'm hoping that my journey onward
Will manifest something real

Maybe I'm hoping for a paradise
I feel reality will not suffice
But the pages keep on turning while I'm reading
An Edwardian approach will find no meaning

The two of us are moving forward
And maybe you'll see the sun
I've given almost nothing to you
But I know you asked for none

Maybe I'm just afraid it's all complete
I'm steadfast as I bask in my defeat
But the pages keep on turning while I'm reading
An Edwardian approach will find no meaning

This makes me feel stupid, on a number of levels. Thank you.

I really like this. The rhythm, your voice, the space. Especially your voice. Maybe it's just my lousy work headphones playing tricks, but the strings sound a bit out of tune with respect to the guitars. Really nice song, though.

yeah, I agree with uncleozzy. Due to my bad memory and your good lyrics, I thought you were "the echarpe perdu guy," now I think if you haven't heard that song, you are going to like it. Great song grubi.

I liked the whole song, I think there's a niche to be filled with this kind of music.
I can kinda hear what others are talking about with the strings, though I do like them.

Great work! Look forward to hearing more!
