A song from a promising project called Lek that ended up short-lived as we found ourselves living far away from each other.

Lyrics and melody by the same friend K who sang the Bjork cover that I posted a while ago. The music is by the rest of us.

I like K's off-kilter sense of rhythm. I wish the backing had some more...atmosphere? but I assume that this isn't like a "final" recording anyway. (That's the frustrating thing about "promising.") Pretty cool, in any case.

Yeah, I'd like a more open mix, but I dig this. She's got a great voice, for sure. The chugga-chugga brush drums are nice, too.

I just listened to the posted version, and it's much quieter than it was when I was mixing it in logic, so I understand how people were underwhelmed. Oops.

Turned up on headphones, I think it's a good song...

Really cool, umbu. She's got one o' those voices, ya know? You should post the lyrics.

i don't know. i really like the accompaniment. the rhythm section moves around the vocal part brilliantly, like one big, spooky snake. i might bring her voice out just a tiny bit more, make it a touch more cutting or just throw on a touch of reverb. course i usually drown my arrangements in such things, so grain of salt. maybe if you just tone the bass guitar down an ick. would make everything sound a little less droned out.
