a tim burtony/weezeresque lovefest about... brains
here for my pals on mefi first by
the edison carter project

Another one off endlessly upcoming album-thing.

Originally this had been intended to be a sort of sappy tune; it's still about something I said to one of my friends, which was "if we were just brains on a shelf, and the only thing we could do until we were dead was communicate telepathically, that would be ok".

if we were two brains on a shelf
and that's all we ever were
i'd be next to her

eternally right by my side
it would be so divine
fusing thoughts and no words

after the gas
severed at last
under the glass

a crackling sound

and you'll never be down
'cause I'll always be around
synchronized by EEG
we vulcan mind meld instantaneously

underneath the glass you'd find
i'd have no teeth to grind
since you'd ditch other guys

we'd never have to dress or dine
it would be so divine
telepathically hers

after the gas
severed at last
under the glass

an electrified sound

and you'll never be down
'cause I'll always be around
synchronized by EEG
we'd vulcan mind meld instantaneously

i'll take your bad
habits and sad
faces and mad

in inner space
we just think of a place
where nothing like that ever happens

If you dug this, please tell yer buddies, dig up my other posts, 'become a fan', you know. Those things fans do.

Neat.

I like the retro synth action a lot.

Well done. I wish your vocals came out a bit cleaner, though. I'm not very good at explaining these things, but it seems like you've doubled your voice there and it might be better without it.

Yeah me too. Unfortunately, it was in a wicked hard key for me, and so I needed the bolstering. I'm no master of vocal - recording clarity, tho, and for rock n roll, the clarity is not always as necessary (or wanted, depending on your skill and/or embarassing lyric content) ; )

Thanks tho!

"Two brains on a shelf", haha!

To your "Tim Burtony/Weezeresque" descriptor, I'd add "XTC-ish". Nice job, bitterkitten.

Also, I guess you noticed that your "body" idea was chosen for this month's WILDCARD Challenge. YAY!
