Karlos the Jackal: I'm just an amateur who enjoys music. By my using synths and other tools, I'm able to play and record things that I like. I'm not as talented as many of the others who post their songs here, but no one enjoys making music more than I. If you don't like the song, that's fine. Your caustic critique makes what little musical talent I have shrivel in shame.

BrnP84: What message board are you talking about, and if you don't know what it means, why are you posting it here?

Holy cats, dude, you misunderstand me entirely. What I meant was, I think it sounds like a post-holocaust soundscape! After the bombs fall, all that's left are the synthesizers and the roaches -- now mutated and huge -- and this is the music they'll make as the tumbleweeds roll over our broken bones, which would be sun-bleached if not for the fact that the sun is blotted out by a constant haze of purple ash.

My comment made sense on the inside part of my head but obviously didn't make the transition to the outer world, and I apologize. The fact that your music brings specific images to my brain is a good thing, and it is my fault for not expresing myself very well.

Oh, I get it now! Then, thanks! And those were the same images in my head when I wrote it. There was a challenge years ago, when "The Lone Ranger" was on TV, to listen to "The William Tell Overture" without thinking about that show. Nowadays, with movies and TV, I think most of us associate music with images. I wonder what it was like a couple centuries ago, to listen to music without any visual association. It's hard for me to imagine. I like it this way though, so I'm not complaining.

BrnP84: Oh, you mean this message board. I didn't recall posting my comment, but there it is! So, I listened to the song and read your post and now I vaguely remember. I think I was offended by your post because I believed it to be bigoted and hateful. Maybe it wasn't. Only you know for sure. It appears that I was not the only one confused by it, so I am not alone.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you had good intentions. But either way, it was wrong for me to have made my comment. If my first impression was correct, I should have simply flagged it and moved on. For my failing to do that, please accept my apology.

Just found this through this thread (self-link), and I have to say, this is really awesome. I used to be into Jean-Michel Jare growing up. This track sort of reminds of the more atmospheric parts of his music, mixed with something darker, like certain post-rock groups or something. Interesting stuff.
