Part of the August Wildcard Challenge.

My random link brought me here. Of course the link is dead. Of course the discussion lead to the eventual religious/non-religious bickering.

I used mostly snippets of dialog for the lyrics. I changed the spelling of 'color' to 'colour' because I am Canadian and it just looks wrong the other way.

I like the transitional notes in the bass, there are some really sweet chords in here. Has a nice Buckley-esque kind of feel.

There are a lot of things to like about this. The bass seems to drive the song as the guitar effects languidly dance around it. I like the melody a lot, and the way your voice delivers it almost as a casual aside.

Thanks guys. I feel like this sounds kind of rushed. I just kind of fooled around on electric guitar and bass and didn't know the lyrics at all. I agree there are some good ideas, but it seems kind of half assed to me.

It could be tightened up into a stellar track. But the looseness makes sense for a MeFi Music challenge, I think of it more as a great demo. If I were you I'd keep this melodic idea around and refine it later. (actually, if i were you i'd say that and then forget about it and not touch it for like 5 years).

Yeah, the way the melody and bass follow each other, and I like the chord progressions and the way they hang off the table, the extra phrases. Half-assed or full-assed, great ideas in here.

This is definitely promising, and I really like your voice. Languid is totally the right descriptor for the feel, which is curious considering the theme, almost like the narrator is a sailor who just visited a muslim country and is trying to figure out what he just caught a glimpse of.

Also, I'm such a sucker for 6/8 time.

I like it a lot -- the stripped-down simplicity of it actually sounds awesome to me. Good work.

i think it's charming, the way the words really do feel like they're just rolling off the top of your head. it doesn't feel rushed, it feels spontaneous.

I obviously prefer music that sounds a little unfinished. The melody is lovely, and the underproduction given it an off-the-cuff feel that I really enjoy.
