Pizza

October 3, 2008 5:45 PM

An improv ensemble decides to start improvising as a pizza order is placed. We will not stop until that pizza is delivered. Very experimental and 41 minutes long.

Three performers (four if you count the delivery guy) on the following instruments:

bowed guitar, flute, mobile phone, casio concertmate, penny whistle
recordaphone (recorder with a tenor sax mouthpiece), cowbell, microphone with distortion, delay and pitch shifter (used on just about everything at some point), vocals, fife, floor drum, guitar, bari sax, tuvan throat vocals, whistling, squeaky door hinge, rainstick, guiro, electronic organ, snapping, saxophone key clicks, bowed cowbell, rockband drumset, and a plastic sack.

Phone number and credit card info were altered in post-production; everything else was captured live.

Had to reduce the bitrate drastically to weigh in under 10mb.

I haven't finished it yet, but this is pretty damn great. Thanks for crushing it down enough to post it.

I can't imagine how they managed to get the pizza there with such mumbled directions, William.
Also, 4 litres of pop? No wonder you can't find an ending to your song.
And a true artist would have left in his address and credit card number.

I'm kidding.

I have to say, though, "we will not stop improvising until the pizza arrives" was just fucking around 'til dinner gets here, in my day.
