What's the story here? I like this groove...it reminds me very much of something Paul Simon would toss on an album. posted by nosila at 7:31 AM on

Thanks. This is just something I tossed on the internet. I am a rock musician at heart but have been lately feeling the afro-latin influence. I grew up in a mostly Puerto Rican community. I have another piece like this that is much more complex.

Kind of. What I really meant was this: did you play all the instruments and multi-track this? posted by nosila at 10:51 AM on

Yeah. I played everything. posted by dagosto at 12:16 PM on

Well, for a rock musician, you have a great rhythm. Also, is that a violin near the end? posted by micayetoca at 6:56 AM on

no violin. You might be reffering to the pitch shifted saxophone, but that lasts throughout.
Yeah, it might be the sax. And the way I wrote that phrase sounded more like a come down than a compliment, but I meant to say that you have great rhythm, period. Not "great rhythm for a rock musician." posted by micayetoca at 1:37 PM on

Oh, no worries. Having worked with many rock musicians I knew what you're talking about. posted by dagosto at 10:02 PM on

Ha ha, this is fun! That pitch-shifted sax is really cool.
This song has been in my head all day. And I have been dancing instead of walking, everywhere I go. I think it's related. posted by abc123xyzinfinity at 1:34 PM on
