Another shitty cover.

For this cover, I played the bass part with a pick. As bad as the playing on this is, it took me a lot longer than I thought it would to get the drums and some of the guitar overdubs recorded. I thought about giving up and moving on to another song for a while, but finally got everything done tonight.

The menacing funk captures rhcp nicely, the King Flea might of even been proud. If this is live then what do you mean by overdubbing drums/guitar?

A very agreeable falling-down-the-stairs quality here, mexican. Love that "more bass... okay! more guitar!" bit there at the top of that guitar solo.

For the drums, I couldn't play the whole thing straight through so I set up 2 tracks and would record to one until I messed up then switch to the other one and start again a little before the problem area. Not ideal but I'm a poor drummer.
The cover is mostly based on the live version, but because the RHCP guys usually play their songs live almost exactly the way they recorded them, I decided to add the guitar overdubs from the album version. I was able to get the main guitar part in one take but simpler the overdub parts took a long time. For whatever reason I just couldn't play them. Maybe all this intentionally shitty playing is leaking into my normal playing...

Oh, the "guitar" thing is from a Darkness song. My woman really likes the screaming "guitar" before guitar solos thing, so I try to use it whenever I can.
