As requested by uncleozzy. I'd like to think this is a song sung by a hard-travelin' man dreaming of his girl—a girl with beautiful long black hair, and a high, soaring voice; Old Man Perry's daughter, Stephanie.

I blew the levels on the main vocals and there's little fuckups galore, but I think it came out pretty good for a silly morning's work all in all. It was certainly a hell of a lot of fun to do, anyway. Someone else needs to do Faithfully.

Geez, that has to be a turnaround record and it has harmonies and several instruments. Confess, cortex, you recorded this and then asked uncleozzy to request it. Very nice version.

A real on-the-nose cornpone bluegrass vocal is something that will always be lurking tantalizing out of my reach. I can manage a bit of high and lonesome and tenor, but I'll always wish I could get higher, lonesomer, tenorer.

But I'll never be able to pull of Scruggs pick-and-roll stuff either. I'm stuck here with my weird makeshift ceruleangrass, I guess.

One thing that occurred to me is that this done at half speed could work as a Springsteen track, like something off of Nebraska.

Fucking perfect. This no-pants workday thing is working out pretty nicely for you, I see! Your voice works so well in the high lonesome harmonies, I think.

I actually have two or three aborted attempts at Faithfully; maybe I'll add the banjo and see how that goes. I love Journey a little bit too much.

Me neither. It's like my right-hand fingers are powered by faulty hydraulics. I don't think I'd do much better playing left-handed, either (even though I'm a natural lefty).

My roommate loves Journey, I've never really cared for em too much (except drunkingly singing that "Don't stop Believin" song) but that's besides the point because this is some good shit. Nice harmonies too.
