Club core decimation

November 23, 2008 9:23 AM

Made with sounds of failing hard drives from this post, a sample of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, the 808 bass drum, and a smattering of club-violence-related acapellas. I also used sounds from software crashes.

The delicate noises of catastrophic hard drive failure are probably more suited to a melodic glitch dirge, but that's just not how I roll. My goal was to create a crunk club song, like a 50 Cent jam, and in many respects I failed. My failure to rock the club is reflective of the original samples of terrific data loss and the CCD song of lost love and disappointment. As always, the song was made with only open source software.

It sounds like a tiny little motorcycle!

This is pretty cool. That vocal sample is well-used and really neat sounding -- especially when it starts sounding all Indian at around 1:45 -- wow!
