Live Mashup

Maybe it's not such a great idea to encourage this kind of thing and set some sort of precedent...but I feel I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how incredible it is when, on the main music page, you hit play on Jingle Bells (1993)(make sure you get the 1993 one) by doubtfulpalace and then immediately hit play on Watch It Burn by Astro Zombie, 5 posts up.
The timing actually isn't critical; it always ends up as a kind of Nick Cave-informed debate between Paul Williams and Diamanda Galas.

Delete this if it's lame and I'll enjoy my own private mashup sad holiday times.

Haha! I think this is a wonderful idea, even if I'm right now in a place where I can't do any audio. Now, maybe the fact that I can't do any audio is contributing to the fact that I think this is a great idea, but... anyway, it's the closest anyone came to the MeFiMu Mashup that was the Challenge for September AND October and that, unless I'm mistaken, no one responded to with a submission. So, good on ya, chococat! You've "made" the first MeFiMuMashup! And damn right, I mean you've MADE it. The suggestion alone equals making it. That is, if we've learned anything from John Cage.

It works great for me. I had to stop-play Watch It Burn a couple times to have the uke strokes match the piano a bit better, but it worked great in the end.

Did you realize this by accident?

Well, that's what I mean by this opening up a can of worms. These kind of posts might get tired pretty fast. But ya, I do this sometimes, as do others...I think there was a post along these lines several years ago. This one just seemed to work really well.

Terrific discovery, chococat. I don't think this will be a can of worms, as long as people don't post stuff that only lines up for a few seconds at some point during the two songs.

Better yet. Each one records one instrument out of "21st Century Schizoid Man" by himself and the listener has to play them simultaneously off the front page.

Although the experience of doing it yourself is not comparable, I posted an already mashed up version for those who cannot stream two at a time which I actually had trouble with when I first tried it.
