The Accursed Hat, Version II

A rendition of Jofus' brilliant cowboy epic.

I was perusing this MetaTalk thread from August, in search of lyrics to put music to, and came across Jofus' awesome cowboy tune about an accursed hat. I set it to music, asked him for his permission - and he informed me it had been done already (but also, to go for it!). I had somehow missed Astro Zombie's kickass version, but mine is different enough I felt OK posting it. It's a simple cowboy melody with guitar, banjo, and my old standby, the fist-drum. Enjoy!

Oh, and - I make two mistakes in the song. One was from Jofus' original posting, one was all my own doing. Spot them for extra credit.

Oh man, this is wonderful, ORthey. Am I correct that you dropped the new reverb you'd been trying for this tune? As I said in one of your other songs, I prefer the 'flawed' ORthey.

Not only your standby fish-drum, but your terrific 'ahhhs' instead of 'oooohs'. Have you ever combined them, instead of only using one?

The other day, I met a woman who was whistling, except her whistling had this great vibrato to it. I've been trying to figure it out, since. I guess I'm just saying that because we both seem to whistle a lot.

This is just so solid, though. But spontaneous, too.

Thanks, guys. This was a fun one.

Corduroy, yeah, beside a teeeensy bit of reverb there's nothing on the vocals. The whistle has been spruced up, though.

Extra credit hunting aside, this is great. I missed both the thread and AZ's version, but these are great lyrics. And the cowboy thing suits you very well. It doesn't sound clichesque at all. Very, very nice, ORthey.
