I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

Ya. Kind of a Norman Bates take on it.

I probably shouldn't have listened to this moments before going to bed...

Chococat, that's brilliant! I've always found this song to be kinda creepy in and of itself.

My daughter had two friends over after school today and I thought, "bonus!" because I figured I would only have my own 3 kids for the La La's...so I dragged them all down to the basement and explained the part that I wanted them to sing which, (I'm always amazed), they got right away.
But I wanted it fuller, and try explaining "double tracking" to a bunch of 9 year olds, when they just want to go back upstairs to play Rockband. Sheesh.
Amateurs.

This version of the song has ruined the song for me for the rest of my life and, despite this, I love you for it chococat! This was awesome. I'm gonna freak out my in-laws with this when they arrive in a couple of days. Well done!

Yeah, I always thought of this as an already broken christmas song... so I don't know, maybe you should think about removing the challenge tag? Please be more thoughtful next time. [/sarcasm]

This is really great. The children chorus seals it for me. I'm imagining your song to this animation (wait until she tickles santa).

What a weird song.

Good lord, this is good and creepy. Great feel, as usual.

Woah! This is a lost Alice Cooper track right? I'm certainly gonna listen to this in the summer too.

So the protagonist is really being kissed and tickled by Santa, right? Isn't that how it works? Either way, it's great. I like the attenuation you give your voice during the creeping-down bit.

Heh. I guess I didn't follow that through to its logistical completion. I just thought the original song was strange enough, with the weird Oedipal/adultery situation of the kid not really knowing that Santa IS the dad...so I went a bit further and cast it with someone else who had some serious mother issues.
I was thinking more that "Mommy" is in his head freaking him out and the betrayal of her gettin' it on with Santa is too much for him; maybe it's imaginary, maybe not.
But if it's him doing stuff AS his mother (to Santa who's really his dad...) then ya, that's a whole other layer of twisted.

This is seriously creepy. And that animation doesn't help any, Corduroy!

Very nicely done.

This is the most seriously creepy thing I've heard in a while, and yet I'm also grateful for it! I've always thought this song was pretty creepy, and this just solidifies it even more as such in my mind. Very well done.

this is really cool chococat. everything about the production is just right, too. gonna make this a last minute addition to the iPod's christmas mix this year.

(btw, chococat--i think i'm detecting traces of influence from the andy summers' classic "mother"... are/were you by any chance a fan of the police?)

Ya, that's in there for sure. And I think the "mother!" at the end is sort of a combo of Summers and Sylvester/Daffy Duck.
Someone mentioned Alice Cooper upthread...the song "Years Ago" was in my head also; I almost put a weird dissonant harpsichord thing on there.
I steal from everybody!

Thank you for fixing the world's worst Christmas song!

I was a teenager before I realized that some fathers dress up as Santa Claus, and by then it was too late. The song is about adultery, full stop.

But you fixed it. Bless you.

Did I mention how brilliant this is? I will most definitely buy an album of songs like this.

Loves it!!!
