Quite nice.
I've always loved the typewriter as a percussion instrument. And, seeing that I'm reading Moby Dick, at present, this'll probably be stuck in my head for, at least, the next few days. posted by The Great Big Mulp at 4:43 PM on

I'm glad I have the chance to finally tell you how much I dig The Scarring Party's sound. Keep up the excellent music. posted by muddgirl at 4:45 PM on

Wow, I love that 1920's vocal sound. This is like something from a long lost great movie! Thanks. Typewriter as instrument! Holy crap. I wonder how many people don't even know what that sound is! posted by snsranch at 4:55 PM on

How do you record vocals, drezdn? posted by cortex at 5:06 PM on

Great tune, a love the whole style and setup. Dangerously catchy also, I'm now going to have to postpone my first novel for at least a few years to get the chorus out of my head. posted by MetaMonkey at 5:27 PM on

I just play bass and sing backup vocals on this track, so I don't know everything about the vocal recording, but most of the main vocals are through a special mic called a copper phone made by the bass player for Polyphonic Spree.
Thanks everyone! posted by drezdn at 5:36 PM on

Rocketman, that's actually not happening now :C

I ordered the CD immediately after hearing No More Room, and received it a couple of days ago. It's been playing constantly since then. Seriously, guys, go on a national tour already. I wanna see this live. posted by Greg Nog at 6:02 AM on

Incredible! The whole thing was brilliant, the ragtime sound was perfect and every element was exactly as it should be. And of course, the typewriter was great! Kudos! posted by sprocket87 at 11:00 AM on

What Greg Nog said; my only complaint is that the CD isn't longer!
Seriously, if you like this and No More Room, go to The Scarring Party's website and order the CD. posted by Dr. Zira at 10:39 PM on

I've seen Man or Astroman? play an Apple Imagewriter live at the 40 Watt. Seeing you all play there would be just as fantastic. If you don't want to lug the typewriter out here, don't worry -- I've got one you can borrow. posted by ewagoner at 10:22 AM on
