Winter in Canada

February 20, 2009 7:09 PM

An instrumental samples/drums/synthemulators beat inspired by (and made over a number of) really damned cold Canadian winter nights*.

*Yes, I know my profile says "Vancouver, BC" and it's not cold here. In my experience no one was actually born here, they just come in from Ontario like me.

I should also add that I got help on this one from my buddy El Cibio, who came up with the sub bass line and choir things. He's got some good ideas, that guy.

Nice. Could be the basis for chilled out lounge music, or maybe a 1970s French movie.

I was already liking it, but I surrendered completely when the bass came in at 0:24. And "1970s French movie" sounds about right. I can even imagine the female-whisper samples over it.
