Within a few seconds, I didn't really like this. By the end, I loved it.

What did you use to create it?

That's neat. I particularly like the line that comes in just after 4 minutes.

If someone does a wall of fame for the best comments in music, this should be prominently displayed in it.

It was done entirely with the Korg DS-10 synth app for Nintendo DS. I'm eschewing the in-built sequencer because of its limited number of permutations. Instead I record "live" using Audacity, but no after effects are applied. The whole track uses the same two synth lines, but these are manipulated one at a time with simulated KAOS pad on the touch screen using settings 2 or 3. Setting 2 moves the volume or pan of the synth line depending on the position of the stylus. On setting 3 one axis controls peak and the other cutoff. It's here that most of the emergent artefacts are coming from, though there's were applied very sparingly to achieve subtle effects: moving the stylus very very slowly, keeping it completely still at different places on the screen, or tapping rhythms on static locations. When the peak is maxed out the filter oscillates which accounts for times when it sounds like a third synth is playing, including the one uncleozzy noticed.
