Won't Upload

Am I doing something wrong?

Please forgive if this is inappropriate, but I am trying to post a song.

8.5 MB, .m4a file.

It keeps getting bounced. Is the server finicky, or does it not accept .m4a files, or what? I know it's not much for you to go on but I am a total newbie in mefi music.

Thanks.

or does it not accept .m4a files

Yeah, mp3 only, I think.

note: MP3 only, with a 10Mb limit.

looks like .m4a is out of the question.

OK. .the error message had a whole list of formats that it would accept, including .m4a's.

I'll figure out how to convert then post. I am sure that you are all anxious to hear it!

we can't wait.

This site is web based and fairly good. You can also do it in your machine if you have iTunes under Edit > Preferences > Advanced > and there select: "import using mp3 encoder".

Then right click on the title of the song and choose "Convert Selection to mp3".

Yeah, m4as are no good.

And no worries, but for future reference, technical/site stuff makes more sense an a note to the contact form (see the bottom right of any page) than a Music Talk post.
