Folsomlujah

Cohen, prison style.

I'd originally intended to do a bit more of a serious thing. But then I decided that it was more fun to jump on the jokey "done in the style of..." bandwagon.

The following crowd noises were obtained from freesound and licensed through Creative Commons: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

This is executed masterfully. Well done!

Fun is good. Nice job! It just goes to show, Johnny's trademark sound works with anything

"yew don't really care fer myoozic, do ya?" Fabulous. Great crowd noises, too, that's a really good touch. Thanks for those links.

I love how you take full ownership of this song, just like most of your music. I've really enjoyed havin' you on the portable music player the last few weeks, chococat.

A nice groove picked on the guitar, smooth bass, and a solid shuffle start of the song quite nicely, but yeah...your croaked vox really sell it. Very nicely done.

Did someone already say masterful? Yeah, I agree.

That's a load of fun, and agreed about the crowd noises: nice touch. The huuuuge reverb almost makes it sound like a crowd is singing along. I dig the way the harmonies kind of float in, too. This is good.

Thanks.
It's pretty goofy. My voice just doesn't go that low so the singing is pretty rough...I just tried it once because I didn't think I could do it again.
I forgot to include a link to the original by Johnny but I guess pretty much everyone knows the song.

Holy butts, dude. Spot on. And, yeah, my voice doesn't go that low either, but the gravely struggle of it works.

The crowd noise is a wonderful addition; a straight up Cash take would have been fun enough on its own but giving it the Folson treatment is brilliant.

If I had one wish, it'd be for some extra, June-ish harmonies pushing in on the choruses. But I can never get her to sing on my recordings either.

Great fun. We should get a fakeconcert tag for stuff like this and this.

(In Johnny Cash voice) Damn, son, if this was any tighter it might bust wide open!

This is great man, everything works brilliantly.

(In sns voice) HOT DAMN!!!
