Green Hopes

June 18, 2009 12:46 PM

A song written last Friday after voting and then immediately after seeing the election results. It's kind of transformed into an elegy or threnody for dead protesters, too. It's agressive and ambient at the same time.

I messed up while recording it, so the ending is a lot less climactic than I wish it was, but I guess it works. I tried to rerecord the ending I had intended, but the rest of the track didn't have the same impact. Anyway, I hope you all will like it.

I would like to give credit to MaxNDee for the sample that this uses. Although, I doubt anyone would ever be able to tell I used that sample. It's been bitcrushed and resonated to death.

I like the way it's all pretty but then you don't shy away from the sort of scrapey, distorted sounds as you go on -- kind of disturbing.
