This piece is supposed to represent or express a particular emotion. Please let me know what emotion you think it is.

Please pick one choice from the following list of 'negative' emotions:

disappointment
embarrassment

Additional responses are also welcome (previously).

I get "anxiety" from it. I decided to look away from your list and just think of an emotion, and then see if what I came up with was there. I thought the music sounded like someone who is anxious, so since that is on your list, it's my guess. I chose it because of the sudden sounds, and the sort of "nagging", repeating sequences that remind me of how an anxious person can't let go of a thought.

Yeah I picked anxiety too before I opened the thread.

restlessness leading to frustration

This is cool, but deceiving. What it causes me to feel is joy because I really like it. It reminds me of some old art films I saw when I was a kid and Peter and the Wolf.

I think what it represents is anger. The whistle and piano are interrupted by the sax and fight a little. At the end the piano is saying, "humph!" with its arms crossed.

(If I guessed correctly can I have a gold star? I'd really like one!)

Without reading other responses:

Tentative hope, which quickly turns into sudden humiliation. At the end, caustic scorn rains down.

Frustration is basically anxiety coupled with disappointment.

Anxiety that leads to disappointment.

Actually, on preview, Karlos nails it with :

Tentative hope, which quickly turns into sudden humiliation. At the end, caustic scorn rains down.
