For Today (with rain)

Apologies for my absence.

At the Lowlands festival last month I happened upon this sad-looking girl standing on a stage with a sad-sounding guitar, singing very sad songs.

I've spent some time focused on doing non-musical things; now I'm trying to ease back into the recording workflow, and what better way than to record a silly little cover song to share with you all.

A hefty rainstorm drifted past during one of the acoustic guitar takes, by the way, spilling into the track. I left it in.

So without further ado, here's my rendition of one of Jessica's unabashedly miserable songs. I think it's about a boy.

I was thinking, oh, that's really nice. And then the organ came in. And it was extra-nice. You sound a little bit like Adam Duritz here (the recorded version who sings songs, not the live version who walks around the stage telling stories over music).
