Sleep, Finally

I actually sing in this song, with lyrics and stuff. It's a first. Ok, it only is like 2 lines.

Another one of those coping songs... This was thrown together very quickly. Maybe in 3 hours. The vocal track was recorded on my laptop's built in mic. I recorded by just jamming out on my mixer.

I like the interplay between the more "normal" voice and the high-pitched ones.

The way it develops, plus the title, makes me think of lying in bed with the things people said running through your head over and over until you eventually drift off. Was that the intention?

That's not what I originally went for with the track since I rarely go into a song with the same intention that I end up coming out with. I did get the same feeling that you got when I listened to it a few times, so that's how I came up with the name.

Great progression, balanced mix, cool timbres and structure. I think it could be shorter.

I made a shortened version and put it up here, it starts the song where the voices come in. It ends up not being so boring at the beginning.

I actually like the extended intro. It didn't feel needlessly long, it built quite nice. The one thing you might change is the panning on the voices; it feels a bit too...mono. Apart from that little perc-ish bit after 4:30, it's all center, and (I think) could stand from some panning. Outisde of that, I liked this rather a lot.
