The Same Four Chords

May 8, 2010 4:35 PM

Inspired by this MeFi thread, I wanted to see if I could write a song using only the famous chord progression seen in "Don't Stop Believin'", "With Or Without You" and about a zillion other songs. This was the result. It's also a sappy love song, because those are fun to write.

Wrote this over the past week (the last verse took me ages, for some reason) and recorded it in about 2 hours this evening. Hope you enjoy it - and in case you were wondering, it's not about anyone in particular!

What a nice voice you have.

I like songs that are about the difficulty of writing songs. This one is amusing and sweet.

Yea, this is nice. If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have even thought about those chords. Great song and cool experiment!

If I were the recipient of this song, I'd have no complaints at all :)
I'm browsing through you're oeuvre and man your voice is good!
