Caerse Muerto (cyan mix)

July 1, 2010 12:26 PM

A remix of a song from a new project.

I remixed this song, basically upping the drums and taking out the main vocals (yeah, not much of a remix). The original is on a new album from melissa may and I, which you can stream here (strangely without the original "Caerse Muerto" song) or, you know, buy. Whatever you feel like doing!

Sounds very "North African by way of Led Zep and ambient Eno if they had access to digital recording equipment."

I like it!

"North African by way of Led Zep and ambient Eno if they had access to digital recording equipment."

This pretty much describes my musical output for the last few years.

love it. the drums are very much like the kind of sound i'd kill for. they're a bit like some of the drums off jon hassell's dream theory in malaya. which is not a bad thing at all. great stuff. colour me jealous!

This is pretty fucking epic.

Thanks, peterkins and Corduroy.

The drums are actually a combination of real and drum machine: A Boss DR-660 to be exact. The real bongos were recorded with a mallet. The tom/clicks were recorded then placed into my old school Dr Sample and then sent back into the computer with that.

This is great. The mix has so many layers to it, without getting unduly messy. Epic is right. I picture guys on horseback galloping somewhere with solemn purpose.

Fucking world cup, I had missed this until now. I can't believe the accuracy of the "North African by way of Led Zep and ambient Eno if they had access to digital recording equipment." description. Also, what does the hairdo does to the sound of the bongoes? would it sound different if you didn't have a mullet?

My mullet causes all good things to happen. Do not mock it.

Also, wow, Spain.
