2010.08.26-01: Electric Horn, Electric Guitar, Cello

Experimenting in experimentation with various experiments.

I've felt, recently, like our sound was starting to become the worst thing possible in improv: predictable. The whole 'all acoustic' thing we've been doing since March has been a great experiment, forcing us to get back into true deep listening. Now we're done with that limitation, and it's time to combine sounds and textures from older eras of Gyrophonic history, and forge something new. This was the first track of the night (obviously), and I think it got us off to a nice start.

It's also much more challenging and interesting and fun for me to mix when there are more tracks to play with.

INSTRUMENTATION:

Timbill Corder (me): Electric Horn (horn through various effects pedals, captured and amplified through a Yamaha Silent Brass mute)
Trey Beauregard (man vs sun): Electric Guitar
Tommy Scheurich: Cello
