Keep Your Hands Off Of It

My cover of a Jerry Lee Lewis outtake, a breathtakingly stupid song. Video at YouTube or Vimeo. Note: audio version includes special introduction not heard on video! Video, on the other hand, includes beautiful girl with weird hair emerging from a tube!

The folks at COVER ME asked me to record a birthday-related cover for the third anniversary of the website, and, lord help me, I chose this one.

This setup of using unconventional instruments (unconventional to us, that is) to play old American songs is fantastic. (As you did with I'm Waiting for the Man). Lovely cover, flapjax. I love it when acoustic instruments sound so full of power.

Thanks, mica!

And, by the way, I haven't forgotten that track of yours: I still plan to add percussion and whatnot to it. Love that track.

That's fantastic news!

I agree with mica! Somehow using instruments other than traditional American ones, doesn't make this any less American at all. The whole rockabilly feel is right there.

LOVE the intro btw.

About the vid, as much as I really do love beauties from yesteryear, I really could have spent the whole time watching the bouncy plushy. Seriously.

Love the intro on the other version too, btw!

I've been thinking, flaps; you need a whamola to compliment your diddley bow.

I love it. The jug-band vibe of the instrumentation is perfect and organic.
