Felix II (AD356-7)

The first anti-track from our impending RPM2011 album, The Golden Age of Bastards, video is available here.

This was more "proof of concept" than "final idea." It was mostly a field test in the practicality (or lack thereof) in playing Roto-Toms with two people; one playing the drums, one retuning them, on the fly. I think it was successful in that, though I'm amazed I didn't hit Tommy numerous times throughout the track. I think it definitely works best in video format, so you can see what's making all these silly noises, and so you can make fun of my sloppy, left-handed drumming style.

INSTRUMENTATION:

Tommy Scheurich: Roto
Timbill Corder (me): Toms
Trey Beauregard (man vs sun): Hyphen, Cinematography

it's bare-bones but very effective at the same time.

Thanks very much! The final work is an overdubbed quartet/octet, finished yesterday afternoon. Hopefully, with 4 or 5-part split-screen video and mad 3 vs 4 vs 11 polyphony.
