Hazy Heat

Another song (featuring spinning from DJ Sku) from The Wild Farewell by The Harvey Girls, as posted earlier in Projects. It is too damn hot to be outside.

Awesome as always, MM. That's a sultry summer tune, for sure.

p.s.: How's the covers album coming along?

That middle sample was something from a sound collection record belonging to DJ SKU, so I don't know what the original source was, sorry. We're recording remaining vocals on the covers record this weekend and once those are mixed down -- well I am superstitious but knock on wood salt over the shoulder spit against the evil eye that should be that.

MeFi Music has taken off fast, hasn't it? Whoosh. Thanks very much for listening -- funny enough, it's finally cool out, after broiling and driving everyone out of their skins for days and days.

Hi, I'm Mr. Melissa May. The song is based on a sample from Bill Withers' song "Heartbreak Road" off of his album +justments. I think it was rereleased recently. Ours is pulled off a K-Tel album I found in a thrift store called Souled Out which has a ton of songs that have been sampled over and over again. It's kinda crazy. But don't tell anybody, OK?

Here's another vote for this Mefi Music thing being awesome.

That LP has some good tunes on it; and "Heartbreak Road" is one of the best (unfortunately, my copy is warped a bit).

Good work.

Nice all around production, and the scratching is sweet.

I think that this song would ordinarily not qualify as "my kind of music" but for some reason I really like this song. A lot. Thanks for sharing!
