Silent Movies

A song about love, silent movies, and people who pretend they watch silent movies

You make me feel like a hero in a silent movie
You make me feel like I've moved beyond mere words
You make me feel like I've saved the day and got the girl at last
We're walking t'wards the sunset in glorious black and white

I'm Buster Keaton but you've broken through my stoneface
I've fallen head over heels over a barrel down a cliff onto some traintracks in love with you.
My heart is the train in The General and you're the Union Soldiers who stole me
And yes I felt morally compromised cheering for the confederate soldiers in that film

You make me feel like a hero in a silent movie
You make me feel like I've moved beyond mere words
You make me feel like I've saved the day and got the girl at last
We're walking t'wards the sunset in glorious black and white

I'm Charlie Chaplin, I'm a lovable tramp
and I love you cause you're not a tramp.
You're a silent movie goddess, you're my Lillian Gish or my Clara Bow

No I've never seen a Clara Bow movie either but I looked up her and she's hot
What do you mean I'm pretentious? Lilian Gish is a common reference.
Don't you watch Boardwalk Empire? I know it's a bit slow but it gets much better later on.

You make me feel like a hero in a silent movie
You make me feel like I've moved beyond mere words
You make me feel like I've saved the day and got the girl at last
We're walking t'wards the sunset in glorious black and white

The Buster Keaton verse is the best! Also, rhyming "tramp" with "tramp" amuses me.
