La Palma (1958)

A song originally by Mono Blanco, performed here by my band. We decided to EQ it in such a way that it would sound as if coming from an old radio. Being upbeat and cheerful, I thought it would be a good way to start the week.

This is a beauty, but I would really love to hear it with it's full voice.

yeah, I like it! but I agree with snsranch a bit too-- it'd be cool to start out the song sounding like it does, then open it up like they do in movies, moving from found sound to soundtrack.

Well, snsranch, in case you weren't "just saying," here you can hear it without the EQ. It sounds like two guys singing in your living room.

And carsonb, I couldn't do the trick you suggested, cause I dont have the original files, but that is the all clean version.

I hope this doesn't break the guidelines, as it is kind of a double and a self-link.

Gulp.

Oh brother Sun, as you go,
around the "sideral world"
(lalalalalala, around the sideral world)

go tell my loved one to come back,
without her my life goes wrong
(ayayayayay, without her my life goes wrong)

Who could be
just like the palm tree
always living at ease
whenever the wind strikes it
its center doesn't even realizes.
(ayayayayay, around the sideral world)

If I was a Sun, with my light
I would most certainly find you
(ayayayayay, he would most certainly find her)

and I would shine upon your beauty
coast girl from Veracruz
(nanananana, coast girl from Veracruz)

Who could be
just like the palm tree
always living at ease
whenever the wind strikes it
its center doesn't even realizes.
(ayayayayay, around the sideral world)

The sun at the time of dawn
brings back this absence of yours
(lalalalalala, brings back this absence of yours)

and in a bit of wishful thinking
I look for your smell around the pillows
(lalalalalala, I look for your smell around the pillows)

Who could be
just like the palm tree
always living at ease
whenever the wind strikes it
its center doesn't even realizes.
(ayayayayay, around the sideral world)

Who could be
just like the palm tree
always living at ease
whenever the wind strikes it
Uf, snsranch, believe me, it makes more sense and it sounds better in Spanish.

It's hard to make these kind of translations (songs, I mean) work as they do in the original language, but at least this will give you an idea of what the song talks about.
