Once again, friends, it's the Smoke Benders: Daysuke on tuba, Naoya on drums, and me on pocket drill, diddley bow, light-triggered synth and vox. Live in Toyama, Japan. Video here.

Hey, man. You guys appeal to more than a couple of my musical sensibilities. Lights are going off for me for jazz, punk, funk, crazy time...so, any plans for hitting the studio? I'm no pro of course, but the Smoke Benders stuff sounds like it might be worth the effort. Cheers!

Thanks, sns! Yeah we wanna record, for sure. It's the kind of band that is probably best recorded live (with an audience and all) to get the best results. We never even rehearse (not even once), so everything's improvised all the time. It's all about the energy of the moment. Ideally, we could do two or three nights in the same venue, and get all the mics and lines nicely set up and running into a multitrack, then have about 4 set's worth of material to choose from. Hope that can happen sometime. It's not the easiest thing to set up, though.

Yea, you guys definitely have an improv feel. I've wondered about that. Good luck with setting it up, I can't wait to hear it!
