vampire deer - unwritten

November 8, 2011 5:53 PM

step 1 - go to wolfram tune generator and generate a tune

step 2 - load in reason, select about 3 of the tracks, loop them and convert them to synth, synth bass and percussion

step 3 - randomly generate drum pattern in redrum

step 4 - add a few bass notes at pretty much random at the "turnaround"

step 5 - improvise a piano part

step 6 - get everything out as wave files

step 7 - improvise two guitar parts

step 8 - mix, master and release

all using as little deliberate thought as possible

Oh, how deliciously skronky! I mean this in all earnesty, pt, if I could favorite this a second time, I would. Once on the sheer principle of the composition of this track, and once on the outcome. As I have often overheard frenchmen say, "J'aime cela. Je l'aime tellement, je veux frotter les calmars et les fromages au long de son pantalon, pour toujours."

That is a work of random majesty. I laughed, I cried, I too wanted to favourite it again. And again. And again.

There were moments where I could swear I was listening to Bitches Brew.

Wait, was this month's challenge to rescore After Hours?

This is rad.
