Love Junkie

My 80's punk/funk/grunge 3-piece, The Whores. Recorded in 1986, I think.

I've posted 2 Whores songs before - this is the third of five fro the one good session we did. We wrote this in 1981, then the guitarist moved away for a few years, and this was the one song from our old incarnation that made the cut when he returned to Austin in 84. It was kind of our theme song.

Digitallyescued from Ampex 456 24 track, and mixed in Logic by me in 2005. I've just recently gone back to these mixes and yanked most of the reverb back off, and am finally happy with this one, 6 years later.

Friggin' awesome. Love Junkie by The Whores... Ha! This is way cooler than the mainstream style of that era.

I was born in 1986. Since my mother was in labor for 24 hours, there's a 1/365 chance this was recorded during my birth. I'm just going to assume it was.

I dig it! To me and my frame of reference, it's like a B-52s Misfits.
