You (a tachanun)

This is what happens when I write a religious ballad. A tachanun is the part of Jewish morning prayers that come at the end. They're very depressing, and say things "We were led like sheep to the slaughter" etc. This is my interpretation.

you don’t speak why do we listen anymore
we look up why don’t our joys imbue you anymore
nor our sadness stir you anymore
leaving us to react and react
jamming us into a corner
you don’t speak why do we listen anymore
as for me, I’ve been jammed for years
why do we linger after you’ve left us here
only to stretch so wholly for you
we can only react. it’s the way that we do it
