unofficial mini-challenge suggestion: Friday the 13th?
Inspired by this radio show with 20 covers of Thelonious Monk's "Friday the 13th", how about ... some covers of Thelonious Monk's "Friday the 13th"? With a goal date of Friday, April 13th.

I don't know the original, which usually means fun times for a cover!

i'm very busy these days, so i don't know if i'll get around to it, but i thought i'd point out that the "head" of friday the 13th actually works when played against the four chord challenge chords

Not to be picky, but incidentally that's not actually the original (which sadly I cannot find on Youtube.) The original is on the Thelonious Monk and Sonny Rollins album, but doesn't actually feature Sonny Rollins because, on the titular Friday the 13th, Sonny got held up by a car accident and couldn't make it, and the trumpet player got sick and couldn't play either, so they got Julius Watkins to play french horn instead. (Hence Monk marked the unlucky occasion with the title of the song.) Pretty sure the version you linked is from the Thelonious Monk at Town Hall album from a few years later.
