Hollow Saturn

Starts out atmospheric as we slowly descend through the thickening clouds.

There's a jarring jolt as we pass through the aperture at the pole, then things get spherical once we're inside. Towards the finish as we spin inwards, our orbital speed increases, but in the end there's a nice soft landing at the core.

I recently graduated from a 4-track MOTU Traveller to a new Focusrite OctoPre 8-channel thingamabob, and am finally able to close-mic a few of the drums, though the weight of the drum mix is still carried by a single Shure SM81 condenser mic. Was seeking a more fundamental tone on the bass, & I think I got it. I'm overall more more pleased with the mix as I figure this live room recording thing out. Also, the Focusrite pre's just sound better.

I'm glad I finally talked Dennis into using his mallets on one. The thing that happens around the 5:18 mark is one of my favorite things we've done so far. Ron is a wizard.

Also also, I'm finally not totally embarrassed by our website, though I've jacked something in the .altlink mouseover state I've got to fix. Don't Hate.

I liked this a lot. A great improv jam, really good ideas bouncing around, working off each other. Cool sound too
