Electioneering

July 18, 2012 11:14 PM

If any of our previous posts for this challenge have been successfully creepy, then hopefully, this will be the stuff of nightmares...

All we really set out to do, in the original sketch planning, was suck the rock out of this track--on the album, it's the big rocker that comes and breaks the dark tension after Karma Police and Fitter Happier. We wanted to prolong that a bit more. It then took an unexpected turn, as it tends to do, assisted in part by another lung-death-fueled vocal delivery. Enjoy.

INSTRUMENTATION:
Timbill Corder (me): Korg MS-10, Live Effects Manipulation, Vocals, Production
Trey Beauregard (man vs sun): Alesis QSR (Mindsweeper & Eno Pad), Glockenspiel, Whamola

No! Don't delete! No deleting!

Remember, this isn't about competition, it's about filtering the source material through your style and expression.

Definitely no deleting! I do appreciate a good weep, though.

Oh I know it's not about competition....it's just my little inner hater bubbling up.

's okay. I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a bit of schadenfreude from it. I'm not proud.

...I'm a little proud...but I'm kind of a dick.

Actually, this is one that I've been most looking forward to hearing other versions of, but nobody else has done it yet.

What the hell!!! This is not what I expected when I popped out the music player and pressed play! So it starts and I think, ok, nice intro, and then the singing started and it stayed dark. Great stuff, proper scary and unsettling, loved it - I am always interested by your ideas mate.

(And the next one is you as well lol.... on to next thread....)

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Yeah, it just gets darker as it continues.

Well I'm now on my seventh and hopefully final arrangement of this and will be posting it soon.

I kinda want a mix of each attempt, either in serial or parallel.

Seconded. If they're all the same tempo, I want them in series--if all different tempi, all at the same time.

This is my assigned track too. Really wish I had more time this month but looks like I'm gonna cram it all into the last weekend!

This somehow reminds me vividly of the original 'Fright Night.' Possibly specifically the part where Susan Sarandon's brother is seducing Herman's Head's girlfriend from Married With Children.

Which is to say I like it.
