Love To, Honey

My first stab at doing a serious vocal. Most likely, my last, as well.

"Love To, Honey" by TRVolk

Love to, honey, but I gotta run.
One more time with you sounds like a lotta fun.
Love to, honey, but I gotta run.

Truth takes a backseat to process
and justice is left for the street.

Love to, honey, but I gotta run.
Killing time with you is a lotta fun.
I gotta turn in my badge but not my gun.

I see nothing wrong with shooting.
What matters is who gets shot.

Love you, honey, but I gotta run.
Another hour or two would be a lotta fun.
Love you, honey, but now I'm on the run.

Ha! This song is fun. I wouldn't worry about your vocals - they suit the song perfectly, but maybe don't hide them in the mix so much. This is great, it's gonna be in my head for hours now.

I'm not sure what you mean by "serious" vocal here. Not that it isn't "serious", but I might have used a different word to describe it. So I'm curious how this vocal is "serious" for you (honest, interested question). Is it in relation to the rest of the instrumentation, which I could describe as "fun"? Because I really like the instrumentation a lot, and I think the vocal sits well within your arrangement. Anyway, nice song!

'Serious' as in 'not a novelty song'. It took me six weeks and a lot of editing and other tricks just to get the vocal to that level, and I am still squeezing the hell out of it with a pitch corrector. From now on, I will look for a singer on a collaboration site. I don't want to waste that much time.

If anyone wants to redo the vocal, I can send the backing tracks to you.
