Our Love Violates Corporate Policy

December 12, 2006 10:10 AM

Written and recorded for SongFight! [MeFi FPP] in March of 2005, with my wife contributing vocals. SongFight! is still around, and though I've done a few other songs, this is the one people seem to like so I thought I'd share it. If you like early 80s TV show theme songs, or musical theater, this will probably appeal to you. If not...well, consider yourself warned.

Ha! You should write an entire show. Like "Grease" but in the corporate world. Anyway, this was good!

Yeah, I really enjoyed this as well. Very sweet. Is there a bit of nod to Madness ("It must be love") in there? Or am I just hearing that in the piano part?

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for listening.

I didn't put that musical reference in intentionally; thinking about it after your comment, however, I fully understand where you'd come up with that, and now I wish I *had* done it on purpose -- I'd feel quite clever if I had.

Right on, just found this tune courtesy of your "self-link" playlist :) You a fan of Stephen Merritt of the Magnetic Fields by any chance? The lyrics and execution immediately reminded me of his oeuvre. Fun.
