Deck The Halls

December 15, 2006 8:22 AM

A great arrangement of a classic tune by the Sovereign Brass, an all-brass quintet, which was an impromptu thing between my friends and I to spread some Christmas cheer and create a few new arrangements of some old chestnuts.

I say you should keep it going past Christmas and record some non-Christmas stuff. Not to be the Grinch here, but I think you guys play really well and I would love to hear other kinds of music played by you.

Thanks! We certainly are thinking about that, but it's hard to find the time.

One of the few brass groups I've heard in a while that's actually in tune! Very nice!

Fantastic! Christmas-y without being cheesy! Quite the feat! Thank you very much for posting all three of your arrangements.

I'm glad everyone enjoyed them. It's always a real pleasure, spreading Christmas cheer. Maybe next year, we'll do some new stuff ...

This is amazing music - a refreshed, modern brass-band sound. I'd love to hear what you could do with some Sousa chestnuts!
