patience

I think this may be one of my favorite things I've done guitar-wise. I started out with a very basic chord progression and just played out as many variations of that as I could think of and then took my favorites and combined them into a simple quiet/loud dynamic.

I've got a bad habit which I've been trying to break from. That is I tend to make one part songs lately, just a single chord progression played several different ways. I fall in love with too many of those variations and never end up taking the song anywhere else. This song indulges in that bad habit. I wrote about 6-8 months back I think and then promptly forgot about it. I just recently ran across it the other day and thought despite it's flaws, it's a great jam. It kind of reminds me of The Doors or something...

Very nice groove, and it even gets sort of crunchy in a good way towards the end. I was confused by how it started loud and then got softer when the drums came in. I wanted it to stay loud and get louder with the drums!

Thanks both of you.

Elundhart, Yes, that was a mixing mishap on my part. I had some kind of automation i was playing with the on guitar track levels which I thought I had disabled. I will have to go back and fix that sometime.
